Brendan Hance

Brendan is an entrepreneur, capital provider and fractional CFO based in Edmonton, Canada. In 2015, Brendan joined his family’s retail business managing 12 locations and 330+ employees across Canada and the U.S. After the successful sale of the family business in 2017, Brendan established a small family office and now manages an investment portfolio of public and private investments.

With a background in accounting and finance, Brendan works with growing companies to better understand their cash flow requirements and make sound financial decisions. Brendan has worked with companies across a range of sectors including retail, hardware and software technology, food manufacturing, travel and tourism and others.

Tim Lynn

Tim has been the financial strategy lead of a startup that successfully exited, and has years of Alberta mid-market investment banking experience, providing a deep background in financial strategy and corporate advisory. Furthermore, he has completed the examinations for CPA, CFA, and CBV. He advises companies as a fractional CFO, both startups and traditional businesses alike across a broad swath of sectors, on wide-ranging strategic matters such as corporate transactions, capital attraction, cash flow management and forecasting, customer economics and financial modeling, and others.

His passion for and experience in the startup and corporate worlds has led to him co-founding Startup TNT, an organization that facilitates the deployment of angel capital through community development and education. This passion extends to investing as well, having invested in over half a dozen angel deals to date, and searching for traditional businesses that are looking to transition to new ownership.

Nolan Ryan

Nolan has a broad range of professional finance experience that spans investment banking, private equity, private lending, and asset management. He was the financial strategy lead at a startup private equity firm on the acquisition of an Alberta-based industrial services business. With his sell-side and strategic finance experience, Nolan specializes in helping business owners realize the value of their life’s work by helping them prepare for and execute a comprehensive transition plan.

Nolan has worked on deals involving a breadth of stakeholders ranging from small businesses to large institutional pension funds and is active in the Alberta startup community, having managed the investment decision of an accredited investor in the 2020 Startup TNT Investment Summit. He also mentors local startups alongside a handful of other Startup TNT alumni.
